We have tried different lunch buffets in the bay area in the past, the only one we would recommend is Palace BBQ Buffet in Sunnyvale, which we have visited 3 times in the past 9 months - and we go out for lunch only about once a month.
This is a Korean BBQ restaurant, which means the main attraction is the raw food that you barbecue on the grill at your own table. There are also cooked food, soup, fruits, and desserts but I would focus on the BBQ section.
The first pick is the short ribs - thinly slices, well marinated, sweet and juicy, very little fat (compared to what is sold at the supermarket). Other selections include beef slices, spicy beef, pork slices, chicken, squid, and octopus. Also, try the Korean rice sticks and Korean dessert tea, which is sweet and tasty.
Remember to try the Kimchi, which is traditional Korean fermented dish made of different vegetables and seasonings.
If you can, don't go on Friday or the weekend. When we went on Friday, we had to wait for almost 45 minutes. Weekend is also bad, because the price is higher and the food selection is the same as a weekday.
