Here are some other food we tried in Singapore:
Bugis Food Center, near the market - Mango, Longan, with shaved ice: S$2.7 - delicious
Lau Pa Sat Market - Mango, ice-cream with shaved ice: S$3.6 - Icy cold, very good choice in the hot and humid Singapore, highly recommended
Lau Pa Sat Market - Malaysian satay (beef, mutton, chicken) - 10 sticks for S$5 - tasty
Maxwell Food Court - Oyster cake (small) - about S$3 - made when ordered
Maxwell Food Court - Soup with fish slices - about S$3~4 - lots of people in line, delicious. Nearby, there is a juice/desert stall - we recommend the sugar cane juice with lemon (about S$1.7) - perfect thirst-quencher
Fish-balls noodle - S$2.5 - fish balls, good; noodles, nothing special
Bugis Food Center, near the market - Deep fried pork with noodles - S$2 - nothing special
Malaysian Coconut milk rice with various sides - S$2 - one of our worst meals in Singapore, not recommended
Chinatown - Chinese New Year cakes - pictures only, didn't try
